Ergonomics & safety

The ergonomics & safety module maps the extent to which the workplace and working conditions contribute to a healthy, safe, and efficient way of working. 

This module consists of three topics: 

• Ergonomics: assessing whether the workplace is sufficiently ergonomically designed and whether employees can alternate their posture (e.g., sit-stand), whether facilities for ergonomic work are available, and whether employees are aware of maintaining a good posture during screen work.
• Safety and PPE: assessing the clarity and discussability of safety procedures, their accessibility and comprehensibility, and the information and guidance employees receive regarding the use of PPE. Possible hindrances caused by PPE use are also addressed.
• Work-related screen use: measuring the strain of intensive screen work, and the extent to which software and hardware are suitable, user-friendly, fast, and reliable. It also examines whether employees receive sufficient guidance in using software and whether supporting functions (help, manuals) are available.
